Current Litters
I am not expecting any litters until the summer or fall of 2023. If you would like to be on my waiting list please send me an email. I may have retired adults available if kittens are not.
Applying for a Maine Coon Pet
If you are interested in being placed on my waiting list please send me an email to receive an application. My goal is to only place my kittens in homes that are perfect for them. Once I receive your completed application I will place you on my waiting list. Once kittens are born, you will be contacted in order of my waiting list. At which time, I would love to spend more time getting to know you better on the phone. At 9 weeks of age you may come visit the kittens and choose your top picks. I do my best to get everyone a kitten that works best for them and to the best of my ability in order of the list. Some homes require a kitten that gets along with dogs. I do have a dog so I am able to see which kittens like the dogs the most. Some people prefer certain colors and genders so this is all taken into account. I also occasionally keep a kitten for myself or to a show home elsewhere, therefore I have to wait till these kittens are 11-12 weeks to see how they develop to choose the right one. Once the show kitten is chosen (if any) the buyers find out which is their's based on their top picks, order of my waiting list, and their preferences. Kittens may go to their new homes between 13-16 weeks.
Nutrition
I feed high nutrient/protein dense dry and canned cat food from Life's Abundance-specifically the grain free dry and Pork & Duck canned food. This keeps them healthy inside and out making them have gorgeous coat as well. I also use NuVet vitamins/immune booster in their wet food. The NuVet is wonderful to keep their immune system always in its prime. I guarantee my kittens against any genetic health illnesses for the first two years of life provided you continue to feed them Life's Abundance and NuVet vitamins. I only feed the best to my cats and these products play a huge part in the health of my maine coons. If you are interested in purchasing either of these products or are looking for more information please click on the Life's Abundance and NuVet tabs on the top menu bar.
Health
All kittens are sold with a health certificate and are genetically negative for PK deficiency, HCM, and SMA through UC Davis testing. We echocardiogram our breeding cats hearts routinely to ensure no signs of HCM are arising. Of course no one can 100% guarantee against HCM and we do not, but we can say that we are doing all we can to screen our breeding cats in an effort to produce the healthiest hearts possible in these gentle giants. All kittens have been dewormed and given their first two shots of Feline Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenia vaccines. I am an advocate for Protect the Pets by Dr. John Robb and not over vaccinating our animals. Learn more at Protectthepets.com
I recommend following Dr. Jean Dodds current feline vaccination protocol
Care and Special Instructions
Kitten’s must be spayed or neutered between 6-9 months of age, never declawed, and kept indoors (unless in an enclosed area). All my cats use Dr. Elsey's clumping litter and are trained to use a litter box. I train all my kittens to use a scratching post and they never scratch my leather couches. As long as you provide them with a scratching post it will not be an issue. Our cats all grow up with large cat trees, which is especially important as a kitten to help their muscles develop. I recommend Arubacat trees, as they last a long time.
I do my best to expose my kittens to as much as possible at a young age. Exposure to many things at a young age will help them not be afraid of future experiences like dogs, music, baths, and a blow dryer. By the age of 12 weeks all of my kittens have already had at least three baths. Most importantly they have been loved and nurtured from the moment that they were born. The loving nature of these cats is why we love them so much. I do my best to socialize them, which means tons of kisses and play time at a young age. This is the best part of this hobby!
Show Cats and Retired Adults
I do sell show quality kittens which can be shown in the kitten and premiership class (altered). I will do my best to provide a show quality kitten but there are no guarantees as to show results.
I do occasionally have retired adults available, but since I have limited cats this does not occur often.
